Pezzi di Perla is a second-hand and vintage designer shop on Franziskanergasse in Bolzano, run by Eva van Gelder. Trained in fashion design in the Netherlands, she chooses every piece herself rather than buying by the lot — archive and pre-owned clothing and accessories from the 1960s to the 2000s, from Alaïa, Chanel, Gucci and Prada through to Sportmax, Luisa Spagnoli, J Brand and smaller labels most people have never heard of — and checks, cleans and repairs each one before it reaches the floor. Prices start around €75, because the point is that people with different budgets can all find something.

The shop also takes quality designer pieces on consignment, and offers styling by appointment for anyone who would rather build a wardrobe with help than hunt alone.

Based in Bolzano, Italy, Pezzi di Perla specialises in pre-owned and vintage luxury designer clothing and accessories. It was founded out of a deep interest, passion and love for design, history and research - and the need to know it all. We are committed to sustainability and circularity, and are dedicated to the restoration and preservation of each piece. By celebrating design and history we are killing two birds with one stone; by giving these items a new life, we are participating in a more sustainable fashion.

The face you see in, and behind, the shop: Eva van Gelder started Pezzi di Perla in 2020 as a side project during her studies. With a background in fashion design, product development and cultural anthropology, she is what you might call a true fashion nerd. Born and raised in the Netherlands, Eva has been living in Italy since 2023. She is an entrepreneur and mother of a five-year-old.
